Competencies:
• Experience with TJX, Ross, or similar discounted retailers is a significant advantage.
• 3+ years of experience in wholesale sales, ideally in home furnishings or a related field.
• Comfortable supporting phone-based sales efforts and engaging in negotiations alongside the CEO.
• Exceptional listening, written, and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint.
• Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, high-intensity setting.
Education and Experience:

Job Summary:
We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The Assistant Controller position is a critical role, responsible for assisting with management of the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company’s growth. This role requires a strong understanding of financial management, accounting principles, financial reporting and technical accounting. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a detail-oriented problem-solver, and a collaborative team player.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Accounting and Reporting:
o Oversee the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
o Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Reports must be provided timely with analysis.
o Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant accounting standards.
o Prepare financial reports for management, the board of directors, and external stakeholders.
o Oversee all functional accounting areas including accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, cash flow management, revenue recognition and cost analysis.
o Collaborate with project managers and all other team members on accounting changes driven by both external and internal requirements.
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
o Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts.
o Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast and identify variances.
o Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
o Support long-term financial planning, including modeling scenarios that incorporate growth opportunities or changes in direction of plan.
• Internal Controls:
o Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting, this includes the creation and adoption of new controls required.
o Conduct regular reviews of internal controls and recommend improvements.
• Audit Compliance:
o Ensure timely and accurate filing of federal, state, and local taxes.
o Manage financial, bank and tax audits and resolve any issues.
o Serve as the point of contact for all audits. Coordinate all activities, review schedules, organize meetings and ensure accurate and timely completion of reports.
• Team Leadership:
o Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting and finance professionals.
o Create and implement targeted mentorship opportunities and foster development through guidance and support.
o Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
o Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor financial health and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:

RESPONSIBILITES
Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, the Senior Investment Associate/Vice President of
Investments/Mid-Level Investment Professional will work collaboratively with the team across the
entire portfolio. This includes sourcing new investment opportunities across all asset classes spanning
public and private markets, leading the analysis, diligence and research processes
and managing relationships with external investment managers and parties. Additional responsibilities
include:
• Sourcing and maintaining a pipeline of investment opportunities and funds
• Conducting thorough investment due diligence on the most compelling prospective
opportunities including analysis of investment strategy, process, organization, historical returns,
portfolio positions and performance
• Monitoring performance, portfolio positions, current events and organizational changes of the
family’s existing fund managers and completing analytical reviews to evaluate the relative
performance of each fund manager on a regular basis

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will possess between 5-8 years of finance/investment experience including
having worked at a leading endowment, foundation, institutional family office or related investment
platform. He/she will have a demonstrated record of investment and relevant work experience which
includes third‐party manager evaluation and sourcing. Additional qualifications include:
• Strong analytical capabilities and mindset: must have the ability to integrate strong
analytics in his/her quantitative and qualitative investment evaluations
• Experience with alternative investments (absolute return orientated hedge funds, private
equity funds, private credit, real estate, etc.) and traditional investments (public equities,
credit/fixed income); strong preference for a generalist background
• Established network of investment contacts and GP relationships; ability to access
independent network for manager evaluation and reference checking purposes
• Capacity to think creatively and independently
• Strong ability to independently explore and research investment themes, investment
hypotheses and opportunistic investments
• Successfully identify investment managers which are truly unique and differentiated
